why cant you run the bio on high pressure common rail?

Im currently running homebrew bio in my common rail ashtray for the last 2 years and no issues what so ever.

some of the newer common rail systems are highly senstitve to injection pressure, because of the random nature of the feedstocks used for biodiesel production the vicosity and density are highly variable. this can lead to the system not being able to cope with the higher pressures, as most are designed to run on the limit with calibration fuel, and can damage components. In some of the very newest systems the overpressure can cause ECU faults as well as the fuel can cause a discrepancy between the expected pressure of the system and the actual measured pressure on the rail sensor.

if teh vans a shed you can tube out the filler neck so it holds white then put a fille rinto the rear floor and fill it there

of course while ive never done it, i have know of it, but you end up driving all over the place for no reason cos its free (depending where you get it )

farmers round here all run it, they get an allowance of miles they can use it and also dont need mot or tax either, 8 miles a day or summet, maybe much less but once you have no mots whos to say how many miles you do, they have landys with massive holes and alsorts , 1 guys fat missus fell thru the buck of his old landy the other day, chassis was gone right to the cab

I have heard this sort of thing being done in Escort Vans (not mine of course ) with no problems over the last couple of years.

If its a lucas pump like fiesta simon you will have to do a twin tank installaion as the pump will more than likely be lucas.Run mine sometimes on bio-diesel local company does it about 20pence a litre cheaper than pump diesel

I run my astra 1.7td on neat veg oil, it's 72p litre brand new. Runs fine on it, better with 10% normal weasel mixed in, but at that price it's well with it IMHO! Over 50p a litre saving!

I'm confused Easily done at my age!

The Escort vans I know of, are totally standard, no mods done to them and run on heating oil. I keep telling the owner it's dodgy as hell, but he likes the saving, and considers the van disposable if they ever do confiscate it

I think the fine is can be £500 or something like that, then they can work out how many miles you have driven since you have owned the car and charge you the vat and then they have the powers to take the car off you, if you have 2 tanks, one for white and one for red that is fraued and thats a week or two in prison.

Thats what a custom and excise bloke told me as he was shoving a pipe in my diesel tank, lucky it was the white tank.

i have been running my 1996 escort van on heating oil for the past year, every now and then i will fill it with diesal, but had no problems what so ever. it costs me £20 to fill my van, and the van only cost me £200 so if it breaks i will just replace it, i do around 500 miles a week so im saving a lot of money
