Default cosworth air temp sensor???

hiya, my sierra cosworth has bein running a little bit lumpy recently took air temp sensor out and put new 1 in still runs lumpy and misses a little cuming of idle, then revs ok. took it out completely and it runs perfect could i run me car all the time without this sensor? thanks

no defo not, there might be another problem that unplugging this sensor is masking, It needs to prob go on a monitor/diagnostic or to a tuner imo

cheers, was only just at motor sport developments a month ago they didnt pick out up but only just started missing a little bit a week or so after being there, will plug it back in now, just hope its not the loom

I've got the same problem mate,strange thing is that my engine runs fine and the iaw warning light remains off!,even with the dam connectordisconected.
If that light is off i'm thinking that no fault would be logged within the ecu's memory.
Let's hope someone has a few ideas.

are we talking about the brown sensor.

try renewing the blue one.

yeah myn is the brown sensor changed it for a brand new one and still the same, seems to only run better without it pluged in lol

The air temp only trims the fuel, the main corrective is the CTS, so I'd be bunging one of them in first, or at least checking the co.

Unplugging that sensor is simply proving that the engine runs better with more fuel and potentially, less advance.
