However with a steel bottom end etc i'm sure they could do more but I just dont think that XR3 has been that worked over

Of course, 'Lightening and Balancing' is all thats needed to rev to 10,000!!
If only £2500 has been spent on the bottom end and head, then its unlikely to have a Steel Crank and probably hasn't got Steel Rods.
I'd like to see that at 10,000. I dont even think there would be time for a TICK TICK, only the BOOM.

i smell shite youd be hard pushed to get that out of a higly tuned engine. i could understand if it was the 1600i cos that has solid lifters but it would reach 10k loo

just finding my feet
think max got his to rev to 10,00rpm ONCE
he reported oil all over the speedo clocks that same time, engine bay was worse aparantly
think he missed a gear
didnt james old car miss a gear and rev quite high before too
10,000 rpm IS possable , change from 5th to second when trying to overtake a car on the motorwat

Not being funny mate, but, 10k RPM????? As far as I know the highest reving CVH reached 8.6k. There is no mention of any piston or rod changes, surely you would have had to replace these with forged equivalents as the original cast pistons and rods would shatter under the strain long before 8 let alone 10. Do you have any Dyno sheets to prove this?
Many thanks

Probably not, going to cost me £20 in fuel to get there and back, can't be bothered with a slagging match
Got enough of 'knowing alot more than me' yesterday when someone came to look at my Momo's, did you know an AP Organic Clutch can't cope with 150bhp
I didn't
