So i was looking at this and then looking at porsche 997TT's (bored). They use some kind of variable turbo technology where the actual turbine is made bigger or smaller so that there is no lag at all. I dont quite understand that ? Even having read this, lol

If it actually works it would be a godsend on smaller engine cars, its a real pity this tech comes out just as the world goes lithium mad.

Variable turbo technology has been around since around 1989, it's just a shame it's not used more often.

Im really suprised how far behind the times the ford guys are to be honest.

Nearly all other makes now use divided housings and manifolds as first choice now and alot of manufactors include them in a factory car.

Tub manifolds arnt expensive neither if your prepared to either make your own or add some bracing to a china copy, mine cost me £40 and its fulling divided with full plumbing for external wastegate.

I think the more people embrace it the better it will be for the YBs running a gt30 that acts like a t34 or a gt35 that acts like a t4 should make the cars more drivable and fun

Most modern diesels have VVT turbos on these days.
