hi my fiesta 1.25 car i use for work the gearbox has just started to make a really bad grinding sound
its got worse through the day i dont think its not going to last till the end of the week.
i need another one, im going to have to get one from the scrapys tomorrow, will a 1.6 zetec one go strait on? will the drive shafts go strait in etc etc. if not i will get the normal 1.25 one. the reason i ask is its a killer on petrol doing motorway miles so a bigger gearbox would be better.
normally i drive my van but that packed in 2 week ago with diesel pump problems![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
and my erst is mid project
this is a nightmare iv got 3 cars and the last one the fezza is packing up to lol.
any advice would be great i need to get to work, it doesnt really matter if the 1.6 box doesnt fit, but seeing the gearbox is off why not put a longer geared one in, i do about 100 motorway miles aday which is savage in a 1.2, lol
many thanks diesel

Hi mate, don't know what happenned then but I'll try again.A tddi fiesta box won't fit as the starter is in a different place so be careful and check this against your engine.I've got a 1.25 box if you get desperate mate,I bought it in error myself!!I'm in south Wales and the box is good.
