its not a hornet,i saw a hornet last week must have been one of them european ones
i literally shit myself mustve been 3 times the size of a normal wasp
wouldnt want one stinging me tbh

Be very careful, it looks like one of them african beetles, they are really dangerous, and can kill, they lay hundreds of egg's and the larva will eat everything wood in your house in a few days

Woodwasps are bad ass!! Properly large! Was round a mates last summer and one flew into his room, like u say a good 2/3 inches long! Never seen anything like it and like you say they make a hell of a buzz!

I remember seeing a hornet in my garden when I was a kid - fucking MASSIVE. Properly shit myself, I was only young, 5 or 6 maybe?, and my dad proper went at it trying to kill it, but he just pissed it off! Must have wacked it several times with a flyswotter thing, but the fucker was properly strong! Fortunately it didn't sting anyone and flew off, but fuck me that cunt was big!

Fucking Horse Fly. Hate the damn things. Ive been bitten twice this year by them, first one swelled up on an area about the size of a watermelon, second one was only like a grapefruit.

Always have to get some antibiotics for them cause they make me feel all flu-like and wheezy.
