Default What tyres?

After some 205/45/16's and have a budget of around about £250 for 4 tyres. In that price range there are a few possibilities, wondering what people consider the best?

Tyres are a personal thing, it depends how you drive, the conditions you drive in and what you want from them.

I use Toyo's on my A4 and am very pleased

hankook ventus v12.

i've never tried t1r's but several of my friends have and they likes the grip level but hated the soft side wall and they only last 5 min!

i'm currently running hankook ventus s1 evo on my focus and love them. would have run v12's but couldnt find them in my size but the s1 is basically the same tyre but of a banded design rather than directional.

ive always used toyos on all my cars for years and cant knock them other than the side walls are too soft so if ur an aggressive driver they dont last too long!

Rainsports, excellent tyres IMO, get a set on my ST at the mo, easily as good in the dry as the Michelins that were on it before, and they are better in the wet.

if your going to be using these tyres on track days aswell as daily then dont get t1r's. after a few laps of curborough sprint track which is a tiny weeny one car out at a time track my mate's t1r's had lost more than half their tread on his escort cosworth. bear in mind he wast hammering it and its only lightly breathed on as far as tuning goes.

Having used all of the above tyres at one time or other, it seriously is no contest, V12 EVO all day long, near silent, awsome grip wet and dry, have a softish sidewall that takes getting used to just run a few more psi, 2nd would be rainsports, wouldn't use either of the other two again.
Look up the test of the EVO V12 at sepang, basically the bog std V12 evo tyre was pitted against dry road track tyres and was less than 2 seconds behind, then same again when raining against dedicated wet racing tyre, less than 2 secs again, though it wa still legal to drive on the hankooks after causing several sets of dry and wet tyres to be worn out totally, v12 still had mileage left in them.

I've gone for the Toyo's, they came out best in this pole but the main reason is because I found them on www.tyretraders.com really cheap, ended up £235 for 4. I was looking at at least £265 for any of the other tyres, on that site and on all the others (the toyo's were working out the most expensive of the 4 on most sites).

Hopefully my car won't rape through them, it's pretty light and I don't do much mileage.

We have some Pirelli somethings or others on the Ibiza at the moment, quite noisy on the motorway. I remember my toyo's being noisy on the motorway too?

Perhaps it's just me being old before my time and retarded!
