Would I be right in saying it will pass the MOT if no arms are fitted anyway? Thought I heard that somewhere, may be wrong though!

i dont think the above is right, more that they need to cover a certain amount of the screen. if you have a sunstrip they cant cover more than 10cm iirc, but the solution is to simply fit smaller blades.

haha, go for it. if they fit i cant see how it can fail tbh. you should see the ones on my cortina, pump action washer jet, and single speed 8" wipers. absolutely shite and do nothing but pass the mot every year

You kinda answered your own question the Cosworth would be same as any other MK1 seen as that is what it is based on, at a guess I would even say MK2 are the same, and the wipers defo need to be working to pass an MOT.

Round here there are loads of them in scrappys.

Don't think Mondeo ones will fit as the wiper arm would be longer this is due to modern cars having much more depth in the screen (Top to bottom) Escorts would be smaller I would think.

I've got Mk1 Sierra wiper arms in the shed - not pretty (chipped paint, maybe missing hinge cover) but good enough for an MOT. May even have some blades on them too.

You can have them for whatever the post costs + a Guinness.
