Default is it safe to adjust my boost myself?

hi, since i bought my turbo it had a new actuator and was set on low boost, (comes in at 5500 rpm)! can i adjust this by sight safely on the actuator? and how many turns of the thread makes a difference? just rebuilt the engine so would like to have a bit of boost now, its like driving an xr3i!! (reason im asking is no time to visit the rollers for at least 2weeks), and i have a boost gauge so would that help?

Yeah just adjust one complete turn-in and see how it goes, then do abit more if need be.
If it runs okay and the fueling is good you should be fine, but best to have a rolling road test when you can.

I wouldn't mate as your fueling will be all over the place. Take it to a tuner to be mapped or blow your engine up, it's up to you

personally ... if i had just rebuilt the engine i would leave it alone untill it could be set up correctly by someone who had the correct equipment .... no point in playing with it unless your 110% sure on what your doing ... but thats just my personal feelings
