Website design idea help
I'm at the early stages of having a website created. My designer has asked me to put some ideas into the mix on websites i like the look of, So we can get a better idea of what i like and want, As well as his input.
The website is for animal transportation from Spain to the UK and vice versa. The companies offering these services sites are really quite abysmal. They have all the information but the layout if horrid.
The site below has all the right info about themselves, licensing and what not.

I'm after ideas of sites what people like what they have seen while browsing the net or use on a regular basis. Be a big help to get a better ideas of layout and colours etc etc.
Many thanks

fuck me that site is horrible.
have a general browse any sites as the layout does not necessarily have to relate to the content.
have you had a look at some templates to give you an idea? Google them

Make notes on the colours used and the way the pages are laid out.
You will know your customers better than the designer so it's up to you to be super critical. i.e. if your customers are not in the programming industry it's fair to say not everyone of them will know what to do with certain fancy menu's in use by some websites.
I always believe simplicity is the key. Making websites is easy, making a website that everyone loves and ENJOYS using is the hardest part.
Whats the last thing you want when you go shopping? A trolley with wheel whobble. The designer and developer have to achieve a nice easy experience for each and every user to ensure they become a customer and it's up to you to keep them on track and in line with your brief.
