Default focus st problem *help please*

hi guys, just recently my focus st2 has start making a howling whistling noise (when foot is takin off throttle). It does not start untill about 5-10 mins after i start to drive. its like a very loud whistling noise whilst stationary in neutral or wenever i take my foot off acceleration when driving.. ive took it too 2 garages and neither of them have a clue.. ulness they start takin the car to pieces, but i wanna know what it is first. The car is running ok but i dont want to drive it incase i cause anymore damage.. any help or opions wud be appreciated.. thanks

Its the plastic diaphragm inside the oil filter housing mate, very common problem. Diaphragm not available seperately unfortunately so you will need to buy a new oil filter housing. Your ford dealer will know what your on about its a very common fault.

around 120 plus fitting for the part and no its not advisable to drive the car, it will damage the camshaft seals(speaking from experience)

Mine went when i was in London and had to drive back to Lancaster with it whistling like mad.

Changed mine myself not to bad to do just a bit tight to get stuff out of the way to get at it.

Oh and part was on back order as well due to being such a common fault. Lucky my son works in local ford parts and managed to find one for me.
