I can't see I think it's the rubber section but it's burst right where it gets squeezed behind the tank so can't see if it is the copper or not

where abouts in Epping ? Im only in Harlow. Sure we can get it sorted.

If you know what part it is give Kapasi's in Harlow a call (01279 439725, motor parts, really really helpful), get a price and get one ordered. I can pick it up on the way through !

HTH

Andy

Edited to say, Kapasi's is closed and I'll be off to work at 4am in the morning so will be able to sort something out tomorrow mid morning/afternoon ?

Thanks very much, it's greatly appreciated the only problem is I can't clearly see what pipe it is as above it's right where it tucks behind the tank and it's leaking down the flexy hose I just can't tell if it's the copper or rubber section I have the standard jack but wouldn't wanna risk getting under it and poking around like that incase it drops

joining the AA is cheaper than dealing with a breakdown when you haven't joined

If it the one at the side if the tank then it will be a metal pipe just so people know what they are working with so it cant just be clamped off

can you not get a blank from a motor factors and just disconnect that leg from the master cylinder/abs block?
quick bleed up and drive it back.

buy a small vice grips, clamp it very tight onto your metal brake pipe just before the leak and drive home. remember your rear breaks together only do about 20% of the braking of the car

Are you sure you haven't got some sort of breakdown cover with you car insurance. I thought just about all of them offered it for a nominal fee when taking out your insurance, some even include it for free (i think?).

you could always crimp the metal pipe so that the fluid wont come out as much.

common problem on mk1 and 2 mondeos, they rust badly around the second pipe bracket above the tank, any decent garage will be able to replace that section for around 40 quid, I have had this done a few times myself did it once my self(night mare job trying to flare the steel pipe) and the second time (diffferent car)a garage did it for me using a much better pipe flarer..

drive it slow when its quiet.

Yea I still have brakes but the front is locking up real easy and it's a bit arse twitching atm.

I'm still here too I'm at work all week so got a couple of days to get it sorted , and I have tools in my other mondeo I just haven't moved them into this car as i'v only been driving it a week you no that feeling when you wished you'd done something I have that feeling now lol

and I have no breakdown cover as I'm 3rd party f+t and none with my bank or anything luckily I got the old dear to put me on green flag last night so I can atleast get it home on the back of a lorry if I don't get it sorted by Friday.

Also I have a near 4 mile walk just to get signal when I get back to the digs now I was fucked last night

you do know you can join the RAC at the same time as screaming HEEEELPPPP down the phone at them right ?

Either that, or phone Toyota and ask them how their customers stopped their cars with no brakes..

Mk1-stu you do no they charge you £150ish for that privalidge too basically dry raped for something you use once the only other time i'v broken down and needed recovery was when I was 18 and blew a piston on my bike.

And ran sorry ain't replied to pm yet work has been off the scale as we have 4 weeks to make up then i'v been working weekends too so mostly get to just look through a few posts if I get online, and no signal in the week once at digs, i'v got a few things lined up so hopefully I'll be able to get home atleast so I can properly sort it on the drive if need be, and frogford has kindly offered a hand if I need it too

try squashing the metal pipe flat before the tank. should stop most of the fluid going through and give you rakes to the other three wheels. 2 lump hammers should do it.
