I've heard the Grey xr2i's are definately the better ones to go for. Stay clear of the white.

yeah i know i have a saph thats white and the rust is so easy to spot lol
and the only reson i want a grey one is i see someones post on here with his rst and that was grey and just looked so nice plus my mate had one with a high lift cam and he said it went well for what it was

if i had one id do this spec
kent hight lift cam
skim to the head
piper exhuast and maybe try a different manifold ???? maybe a puma one or something
nice air filter get some leather recaros for the frount rally slag the rest
flocked dash (diy style lol)
carbon fiber doorcards maybe
some nice wheels ie comp mos,3-door wheels or even some puma wheels maybe id haf2 have a look about
see how much a show cage would set me back or even a proper bolt in one ??
uprate gearbox maybe a rs2000 one
and an other little thing my mate said was take the bolts out the engine and cut them down a tad ment to make it lighter ????
does that sound good
to me it sounds cheapish and do able with some decent reading time and that will you need to keep a daily runna project from dieing

If its a daily runner i'd go for the zs. Being newer its likely to be less hassle. Cheaper to insure too i'd expect. Plus there pretty good fun too

yeah i dont really wona spend 1500 on a xr2i but wouldnt mine speneding 800-1100 on one if i look hard
last night was looking at some earners like on pistonheads theres a zetec-s with a cam-belt gone for 500 quid and an engine change is about 150 so that would be an earner they sell for over a grand but its hassel

Also, if you take off the air filter and run the engine, pouring sand into the inlet will port & polish the head for you. Dont stand behind the exhaust though otherwise you will sand-blast your legs.
