Just installing the new iOS 4 software now! Anyone got it already?

 

I dont want it because im jail broken, well i do but ill lose so many things if i install it

 

It won't be long before this is jailbroken too!

yeah wont be long, but i really could not go back to none jb because ive got so many things thats jb exclusive.

So whats different that you can see straight away? how long did it take to download and install?

 

My spangly new iphone arrives tomorrow so i can see what the fuss is about. Can you download this through itunes now? I have NO experience of apple or itunes so am a total newbie.

The phone is also locked to vodafone and i'm on o2.

Ideally i want to unlock it properly through vodafone and not to bothered about jailbreaking. Should i be?! I'd rather not have hassle of pricking about with dodgy software!

 

i am downloading it now and it says it will take about 70mins to download so im guessing it will take awhile to install as well.

This was really just as a wee taster. If i like it i'll buy the phone outright and donate this to my mrs as a sweetner

Downloading it now, 90mins and counting

On 3G though, so no multitasking for me! oh well roll on Thursday when i can order my iphone 4

 

Where do you download it from ?

 

itunes, connect your iphone and it will say you can get the ios4 if not click iphone in itunes and click check for updates

 

just done mine, took 9min so not that bad.

 

It took about 20 mins to download and about 10ish to install for me!

It's well cool, i've gone from 5 pages of apps to 1 thanks to the folders! Still fucking about with it to be honest!!

There's a well cool thing in photos, you can sort by album or places, so you can see where on a map the pic was taken! Love it!!

 

so is it much different then? worth losing the jailbreak for?

 

what the hell to get the update for my phone i have to update itunes what a pish take

 

just click no to the update then carry on? if not its not big deal, its free to update itunes? be patient

 

I dunno, I've never used a jailbroken one before! I do like this new version though, just figuring out this multi-tasking lark now......

Depends how much you've installed via the jailbreak i guess

 

so you still havent got a picture behind your icons on the main screen? god knows why you can only change the lock screen as standard

Ive changed mine so i have a pic on both screen, and loads of other shit that apple doesnt let you do as standard

Well ok today i done my own spreadsheet taking into account buying outright and on 18month contract lol.

So far i think im going to go for Vodafone 18month Ł40 one as the cheapest over the term for my needs etc. Just waiting for others to publish their details.

 

See if tesco are doing a deal on one. I paid Ł320 up front on my 3gs and Ł20 a month for just 12 months. It worked out the cheapest option and tesco piggybacks o2 so it's still a good network

I did call a shop earlier and they said they could JB anything below 2.13 or was it 3.13 software? Something like that? Does that sound right numbers wise and is a new one likely to be that high?

Im not sure if i told them it was a 3gs hence not knowing the previous 3gs query i had.

 

You can jailbreak anything easily apart from OS4 which will be a week or so.

Have you got the latest iTunes? It kept kicking me out till I updated. You need 9.2.
