Norwegian Cossie's. The induction kits on them.............
the induction pipe that a couple of them have instead of a filter. been thinking about doing this ever since national day.
couple of things.
1. what do they do about filtering??
2. had a look today and the intercooler is proper in the way of where it would go to. Am I right in thinking that because the relocate the rad to the boot, they can drop the intercooler down further, therefore have space for that induction pipe???
info would be much appreciated

instead of having a cone filter with a samco hose on to the turbo there is a pipe that widens out to the front of the car. I know the moonstone 3dr has it, not sure if any others do though.

Just usually a big panel type filter (like youd put in a standard airbox) in the end of that funnel.
Its a really common mod on saxos and 106s "Saxo Sport Tuning Ram Cooler Induction Kit" or somthing they used to call em, and i think other companies copyd em too.
It is better than an induction kit really, but the difference is small and prob not noticable on the road/track id say.
GrpA R32GTRs had similar things, ive 100% seen some RS500 racers with same sort of setup etc.

edited - you replied
ok, cheers.
would it work on a saff though?? obviously they are different sizes/shapes on the front compared to the 3dr/rs500.
dont spose you know anywhere that sells them?? looks like a bit of custom fabrication needed.
need to get hold of some more pics I think..........

i looked into this when i got my filter and under bonnet temps does make that much diffance at all
a gt40 at full chat sucks around the same volume as a 3 bedroom house per minute
that is far more air than a bonnet scoop or cold air pipe cud supply
itg even said for a filter to be none restrictive it would need a 6 inch inlet pipe and be over a foot in diametre

most people have no idea how much air an engine really consumes, and more to the point how FAST, far far too fast for it to heat up at all really on the ROAD (RR is a different story)
about it being restrictive, i gathered that too, i got 2x Cossie GrpA alloy trumpet jobbers to feed 1 turbo on my car

Dom,
As per usual you are going off on tangents and wasting your money . Standard airbox is fine for your car at the 400bhp you are producing. Save up for a gearbox / diffs / sort your fucking suspension out - you're going to need THEM . You're only interested in doing things that you can see, instead of the things that matter . This is called hairdresser syndrome .

Dom,
I think you should sell the Cossie and buy a Honda Prelude, pretend it has 200bhp by fitting a straight through exhaust, racing "suction" air filter, lairy graphics and neons - it's much more your "scene" .
You have SO MUCH to sort out on your car, I can't believe you are looking at doing the gimpy things before sorting out the brakes / transmission / suspension on a 400+bhp car .

Dom,
Surely this was more your cup of tea the, being able to chat down Maccy-dee's about the induction roar and VTEC switch over point to impress the girlies .
I bet you only wanted a Cossie so you could have a Fast & Furious dump-valve to get the 14 year old ho's wet ?
And hurry up and update your signature to one more suitable .
Should read something along the lines of "Saff Cos 425bhp, stock transmission, stock diffs, stock brakes, shagged suspension, shite wheels, but loads of bling gauges to impress the Nova boys ".

is that why you have the freelander Mike? put numbers on the top at the front, and drive round the all boys schools pretending to be a mini bus, so you can have your wicked way with them

Mike, dont try and hide the gang you Michael Jackson and Gary Glitter have started by insinuating me into your evil Jesus Juice schemes
And forgive me for not being a raving homosexual like yourself, but how do men get "wet"
Or you into peeing too?

Steve,
Please point out where I mentioned anything about men getting wet ? Just because you bought a Skyline to impress all the school boys, I wouldn't have expected you to get confused over genitalier .

Dont try and twist you own words, your the UK/Europe chief of the "Jesus Juice Boy Lovers" gang, with Gary Glitter heading up the Cambodian side of things, and Jacko taking care of America, and thats ALL there is to it
Wasnt this about inducton kits?

A Honda Owners View on air induction
my civic had a blitz on which hugely suffered from heat u noticed the lack of power as the filter faced backwards I now have the AEM which re locates it to the inner wing front bumper area and the difference is amazing
