What are the build quality like really and are they going to hold there value?


Apart from the tyre were ive heard so much about ehat else?
ive been looking and cars m3s etc but im unsure weather to go for a focus rs in white. will they hold there money and do they seem like there built well?

Overall they aint bad.

Colour match on skirts and rear bumpers can vary (On all colours)
Tracking issues as stated
Window rattle when a jar can has been an issue with some
Inlet pipe collapsing

Thats about it I think.

I hope they retain there value! lol Forcast is around 18k after 3 years. I would suspect well looked after pampered examples to fetch this or higher...

 

i drove one a few weeks back and the only fault i could find is seat positioning, its just far to high

 

Not a fault, a critism.

It is alittle high but you do get used to it and it feels natural IMO.

You can lower it approx 1" but I didnt feel it was worth it myself.

I have my everyday driver Golf seats in the weeds and it doesnt feel strange to me...

 

vary in the colour match even a blind man could see it on the green an blue
white is so so
i just buy low milage mk1 rs an spend the rest on a few holidays

 

build qualitys really not bad..i dont have an issue with paint on my white 1 but have heard some with blue/green 1`s have...apart from airfilter pipe collapsing my second cars been mint....im not really bothered if the price drops out of them as im going to keep mine til it rots.

My mates green one the colour match was awful, so much so he took it back for Ford to correct. Also on his third set of front tyres in 10000 miles, nearly on fourth set.

Personally dont like them or the way they drive, but can definitely see why they appeal to some people.

 

its a mk2 mate not a mk1 lad.

 

i knw but going by a mk1 when it was year old the sills were rooting from inside out ever one iv seen worked on is same ,my sisters one year old st was the same also,so she got the new rs instead an got it caverty waxed

 

unsure when but a small batch did have a problem with exploding inlets but im sure its been sorted by now

 

sounds like you youve seen and worked on a bad batch as my mk1 was mint..

 

its just the sills mate that go first its ford gashness thats all

 

ive just got a brand new 10 plate and i love it.. drives awesome. Cant wait to start modding it and get a bit more power out of it.

 

the only thing is i noticed the engine bay is a differnt green and that puts me off looks like i has just been sprayed a difernt colour

Thats because it is left base colour and not laquered.
