I know years ago, that you could buy a F1 tyre that had been used on the track by one of the teams either in testing or actual racing.

Can you still obtain these and if so does anyone know where?

over £200

A guy in the back of motoring news used to have a trailer full of the old Goodyear ones and knocked them out for a tenner each.

Ive got one in the attic turned into a coffee table, and I tell everyone it was on Mansells car when he dummied Piquet for the win at the British GP in 87 when it probably came off some shonky old ATS or Tyrell that packed up after the first lap.

You will find them far cheaper than that if you hunt around, I bought a brand new full car set of Avon slicks for my Single seater which are the same size as F1 tyres for less then that.

i guess you could use some kind of sealant on the tyre to stop the rubber stink. But IMO it would have to be wheel and tyre combo.
