why would you wanna go anywhere,,,,,, you live on a place people go for holiday,,,,,, people come to retire there
unless you would rather take a holiday and get a job working 9 to 5 in a office with the rain running down the windows,,, delays and traffic make you take over a hour to travel 6 miles,,,,, then go home to sit in one of the best beaches i have been on and complain about it,,,, waiting for that holiday in britain ????
i hear you about the wages thing,,,,,, and you guys do work some hours too,,,,,, but tbh,,,,,, i would say its worth it

2 days there, 2 days back in van with a trailer on board wouldnt be cheap though, think id rather just ship it as earning the money and paying shipping is prob cheaper than fuel, breaking down, getting bored on road etc lol + loss of wages. fly and nice relaxing week, see the drag action, few cars and purchase one sounds better lol

Like to help, and what a cool little road trip that would be ![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
That would be my ideal job, driving for hours on end is something I can do quite easily.
Good plan Ginge ![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/roi.gif)
It works both ways, had people off here help me with stuff over the years, happy to give some help back where I can.
Correct a mundo regarding loving driving, not sure about doing animal feed as job, you'd have to be crazy

It took as 2.5 days to get down, 4 drivers, each one driving for 4 hrs or so. We only had to stop once at France because we run out of petrol and going find an open petrol station.
I'd re do it any day

id be tempted still to do a road trip just for the hell of it tbh, sure kam would also consider it too,,,,,,, its a fair distance but we can do 1000 miles a day though be prepared i wont be driving at 50mph to save fuel,,,,, id be chalking off the miles as quick as i could
best way IMO is to go through south of france spend a day there then italy,,,,, another day there then malta for a few days,,,,, the drive back ( or do either italy or south of france on way back instead to break it up)
i wanted to do it last year in the scooby,,,,, but worked out a car that does 200 miles to 60 quid,,,,,, its not gonna be a cheap trip when a flight to malta is 70 quid and takes 4 hours pmsl

you will do it in 2 days no probs but will be much cheaper to fly there relax watch some racing and have it transported back, last time it cost me around 500 to 700 euros per car depending who you use and how many cars you bring back

please tell me your taking the piss,,,,,, you think driving at 100mph is gonna kill the engine,,,, and heat up the oil so driving it the same distance over a week will be some how better for it ????
no really tell me your joking,,,,,,, only fucked cars cant drive 1000 mile before breaking down,,,, if the cars not fucked you will be fine,,,,, some cars can do over 150 thousend miles before they get worn out,,,,,,,, and 25% of the engines wear happens when the car is first started,,,,,,, if the car was always to stay warmed up the engine would last longer than normal,,,,,,, RACE ENGINES ARE NOT CAR ENGINES SO THE SAME RULES DONT APPLY !!!

ginge i reckon 1800 solid miles id imagine would be worse for an engine than say 300 miles a day and having a holiday, theres warming oil up to temp fair enough but i doubt a 1000 miles solid is good for an engine tbh, my opinion not a debate though lol.

paul on a run the engine oil will be at around 80 degrees,,,, which most oil starts to shear after 130 degrees or somewhere like that ( aint got the exact temps but is ment as example) so doing 1000 miles straight is more than fine,,,,, the engine will have coolant to help it not get too hot too aswell and erm,,,,, its what they are designed to do, driving 1000 miles in 2 days or 2 years should make little difference apart from better for the engine in 2 days
if it failed after 900 miles,,,,,, it was gonna do it anyway and you was just on borrowed time
