Default Scrapheap challenge

Who watches this? Use to watch it when i was younger and watching the re-runs now on more 4. How setup do you think it is? Saying that would still like a go on the show.

used to love this programme.it was odd though how whatever the challenge was that the perfect items were 'found' in the scrapheap ie compressors, perfect pulleys, right amount of barrells etc

I think they have to stick a load of relevant stuff in the scrap to make it work tbh as if they didnt then nothing would get built lol

It's easy... both of the "experts" has been given a task before the filming starts. Then they think of how it is put together and make a list of requirements. Pass the list to whoever job to put the stuff in the scrapyard and let the builders to find them during the filming.

thats exactly what happens. Mates dad was asked to be the advisor on an episode. The one to make an ice racer iirc. The calles him up and asked what parts could be hidden around etc

when the show first started they actually made a point of hiding verious "bonus" parts around the yard, was a little feature they did in the show but in later series they stopped doing it...

i liked the first scrappy racers though, when they actually had to drive the cars they build round the country (had a twin engined london taxi on there)
