Default Question about gravity fed 044 Pump

I know the 044s are gravity fed but does this mean from the point off the exit off the swirl pot needs to be lower than the pump or the fuel level in the pot? will it still work?

ive drawn a crap diagram for what i mean.

My fuel pump sits about 20mm higher than the inlet of the fuel pump.

I think ideally it should be yea.

i assume the swirl pot is fed by another pump? if so, then when the swirl pots full it shouldnt be much of a prob, if your cornering hard and the feed pump runs dry and the swirl pot runs low, it MAY have an effect on feeding the 044.

Can't you raise the swirl pot a little higher?

The 044's do suck, but after all the hard work of getting the right setup, is it not worth making it right?

hth.
