Looking to up the oil pressure in my frst, heard someone talking about the valve spring and putting washers in behind it, where and how do I do this? Where is the valve and can you talk me through it, think the shells are done in so if I can do this first it might let me know.. The pressure down at idle but goes up when reved, only a 2nd hand engine gone into it..

you need to establish why you've got oil pressure problems. if you were the lad asking similar questions last time then i think you need to whip the sump off and check for problems first
it could be something as simple as a blocked pick up pipe or strainer
i would put a new oil pump in it for peace of mind and to rule that one out, i certainly wouldnt be putting washers in anywhere!!! sounds like a bodge
edit: if the shells are fucked then you need to sort them out too - i mean this in the nicest possible way, but i think you need to take it too someone who knows what they are doing

That's fair, at the end of the day I wat it to run right, can the shells be done while the engine in the car and I've ordered a high pressure pump off Burton so should be here soon.. Can't see the strainer been clogged as the pressure sticks to the same digits every time.. Sure I'll rip the sump down and we will have a look see..

tbh if you're having low oil pressure id suspect mails etc gone as tight tolerence keeps good oil pressure up as a rope worn engine will be harder to get pressure due to larger shell gaps to fill if you unserstand what im attempting to say? lol

Getting about 9- 11 psi at 1000rpm and 22psi at 1500rpm when you rev her up it goes up and up.. If the shells are gone would the pressure not just stay the same all the time. Like would it move that much?
