Default volvo c30 polestar, haldex 4wd?

afternoon all!

just been reading the paper while doing the sunday fry ups and I spotted the C30 polestar in the back of the news of the world.

I never bothered with a link since its mostly other forums nattering about it but the c30 has the 2.5 turbo 5cyl, 405bhp quoted and haldex 4wd.

From what I knowI know the haldex run fwd on power with transfer to the rear on slip (correct me if im wrong on that).

Does anybody know if the system in the c30 could be a perm 4x4 or AWD deviation of the haldex? and If so why couldnt ford give us that in an RS when they can build a larger specced car with the volvo?

Obviously if its boggo haldex than no point scrapping revo for it.

I understand the cost element of implimenting it into the focus (c30 only 5k dearer tho) and what that means for us, I also think the focus is an awesome car so I'm not griping, just wondering.

Chat away

Pete

Watched the Autocar review of it on youtube and they were saying if Volvo did it, it would be £40k for them so knowing Ford £50k for a 400bhp AWD RS lol

I'm sure the Haldex clutch is what is used in the AWD Kuga also
