Default damaged drive shaft?

basically in my escort van when i go round a right corner quickly like 60 on a country road the left wheel makes a whirring noise is this sign that the drive shaft is going or gone? also when i turn the steering wheel when im parking there a loud sorta buzzing noise coming from the power steering any idea's what this could be?

thanks rich

Could it be a wheel bearing? Making a sort of droaning noise? As for the power steering, have you checked the level in the reservoir? Bloke at work's focus was on minimum, pump made a hell of a racket until it was topped up then it was fine!

Not too sure really, when you turn a right hand bend, the weight of the car shifts to the left, thus making the bearing more noisy. If it is definately the bearing then in a couple of weeks you will notice it will start to get noisy all the time.

id say split cv boot pal,get under it and have a look if theres no grease in it it'll be making a racket, jack van up and try and pull the wheel off if you know what i mean from top to bottom and side to side,if it moves then it'll more than likely want a bearing soon.
