Default Newcomer / Track mondeo 4x4

Hi I'm steve from cambs. I have been a member for a while but never introduced myself. I own a 89 saph cos with about 380bhp. I'm thinking of building a track car using the mk2 mondeo with the 4x4 running gear. Will a two liter zetec bolt onto this gearbox and what sort of power can it handle? As I'm currentley building a 400bhp silvertop zetec. Cheers steve-o

dont think the 4 wheel drive system in the mondeo would handle 400 bhp think it would end in tears first time you used it hard, heard that they are shit.

I thought as much. Can the gearbox be built to handle 400bhp? Will it bolt onto the zetec?

Didn't the mk1 4x4 mondeos use a similar set up as the rs2000 4x4s? Fine for standard power but tend to shit themselves when you up it a bit!
