Default road tax st220

hi guys, i´m hearing some contrasting stories about road tax, does anyone know what i´d pay on a 2004 st220 if i was to tax it as of now?

i´m hearing stuff about it being low tax band or the law not chaging yet..........ect but from what i can see, i´m looking at over 400 quid which is a complete piss take! its the same as my fully comp insurance!!!

in a word, no.

the only exception to the rule is cars registered between 01 and 04, which are capped at band f / £244. So an 03/53 will be ok, 04 is likely to fall into the £400+ top band....

is it possible the cap on cars 01-04 will include cars reg. before april 04? therefor meaning a car reg. feb. 04 for example would qualify for the lower tax band?

I would have thought if you enter the Reg Number on the DVLA site it will tell you how much it will cost to tax it

had the discussion on a mondy forum i help run a few weeks back. one lad pays around £225 a year, his is 03 plate 220, another lad, who has a 05 plate 220, pays over £400 a year. its an absolute pisstake seeing as there EXACTALLY the same car. IIRC, the 'supertax' on 220's comes into play if the car was registered after a certain month in 05.

how does this affect the Focus RS

from what i understood, all cars 2001-2006 where still being taxed according to their band (A-F) and it was only post 2006 cars that were being affected?
