FAO Stu @ MSD
I have been ringing your workshop for the last three days and there has been no answer on any extension numbers. I have also sent you a couple of PMs but still no replys. Im in desperate need of help on an L8 ecu and wasted spark conversion on my 2wd cossie!

Problem is that I have just converted from L6 to L8 with wasted spark conversion. Now I bought the L8 off ebay with the wasted driver installed and the chip is programmed for closed loop and siemens 83 injectors. Im using these injectors but I havent got a lambda fitted at the moment. I rang MSD to check if it would run ok without the lambda and they said it would. Fair enough I thought and purchased a wasted spark loom off them. I fitted it all and it wont start, I have spark and fuel but it wont run. To me it sounds like the timing is miles out. It was running fine with the L6. Every few seconds while cranking you can hear it fire on one and stalls the starter motor. Like its firing whilst half way through a compression stroke.
Im using the 2wd tps with the wires swapped over and as far as I can find out, this would atleast get me up and running.
It also sparks when you first click the ignition, is this normal as I dont think its right.
God help me lol

No its not a common problem that is ECU specific.
Its partly an issue when using a mixture of components from different sources and the fact when I initially designed it, I got the 2 pins on the ecu reversed ..LOL

generally no, early msd/secs boards ran like this, but were changed after about 8-12 months from launch i believe, simon will clarify.
now all new boards run same as pectel setup, 180 degress out.

Sorry guys, we are busier than we have ever been and simply cannot keep up with all the phones, cars and mail order anymore and are all working 12hrs a day at least to keep up. We have grown in turnover to well over double what we have done any other year and an unfortunate side effect of that is all three phone lines are now constantly busy. To this end we are going to build another office here and take on a 5th member of staff to deal with the growing business and take some strain off us but finding teh right applicant will take some time.
Appologies for those of you struggling to get through, please perservere or, if short of time, drop me an e-mail as that is still at max efficiency as I do these at home and on my mobile too.
Sorry guys, I know you all have a choice of where to spend your money and I thank you for your patience and your custom, its much appreciated.

Pete,
LOL, I have no need of a job thanks as I work for another tuning company now.
I was just making a suggestion that could find a quick solution to Stu's immediate problem.
