Does the ecu have a spare rx/tx or can output other than the comms port?
so you can run both comms and dash interface together
says nothing in the manual on the wiring info.

found the info on another manual, why they have 2 is beyond me.
As expected its only via the 9 pin serial D connector, BLOODY mavelous!
means i have to make a patch lead to run both. tip fucking top!

It's ok I sorted it after searching and looking.
Not the best setup idea, but I guess that's why it's a lower end ecu.

Why are you surpised there is only 1 port as most ecu's are like that !
I know higher end stuff has multiple ports but that isnt exclusive for dashes etc...
You are either mapping the car and the mapping software displays the correct readings or the dash is working for normal driving ..simples !
Its a bit like saying why do cars only have 1 steering wheel..LOL !

I mean there is only a port for comms and datastreaming, and it's round the back of the ecu, rather than intergrated into the main connector.

and then the loom plugs in the other end..

Ryan is correct, the comm port supports both RS232 and CAN datastreams. The second connector supports wheel speed inputs and Aux. control inputs.
I have done a few systems now which interface to dash/datalogger, I just make a breakout adaptor which gives us a permanent dash/logger connection as well as dedicated PC connection port in a convenient position in the car.
