Went to fill my(1997) 1800 diesel escort van up early today, still half asleep, drove about two mile and it started juddering, loss of power and then started to smoke a bit. Realised that i had put 40 pounds of un-leaded in.
Tried diluting it with a bit of oil and brimmed it with diesel, still juddering and loss of power, but when i looked under the bonnet there was fuel coming out of the engine area where there is a belt around a few wheels, pulley thingy`s. Do not know the proper name for these parts. Drivers side of the engine.
Have i caused terminal damage?

sounds like you've fucked the seals on the fuel pump. expensive mistake im afraid.
if you know anyone good with the spanners it can be repaired, but if i remember correctly, the fuel pump drive belt is behind the cambelt, so to do a proper job your gonna need a cambelt kit, new pump from the scrappy and other bits too, injectors should be ok though i think.
