First Class air travel
When I was repatriated back from the Caribbean the insurance flew me back first class.
The wife had to stay in steerage, even though there was a spare seat and that left me on crutches and fending for myself on the overnight flight home.
Having a nice flat bed was nice, and a choice of breakfast, but I didn't see the value for the difference in fare - £450 or so economy return versus over $6000 one-way.
Anyone want to comment?

We flew out to Tobago in January and there's no way we could of done without it. It's bad enough been on a plane for that length of time but to do it cattle class? Not a chance.

Always do when parents take me away.
Done St. Lucia every year Upper Class since I was about 4. Pick up from home in a top spec Merc, missing the plebs in the terminal is awesome. Priority boarding is handy. Bar at the front of the plane is nice, special service awesome, beds that you can be lying down in take off and landing is special.
Love it.

Flew to the states and back in 97 courtesy of work in first class, and although it was nice it really was not worth the money!
Well apart from the individual menu
and the waiter service
and the bigger and better seats
and the waiting lounge at the airport
and the pre luggage check-in
and the priority boarding

went to antigua upper class with work, loved it althought the camp as christmas air host (ess!) got on my nerves. Going with family cattle class to Turkey in a few weeks and dreading it, like shagging a super model then going back to janice battersby!! Definately the way to travel over 4 hours though. Lets be honest, animals have better welfare than we do in these situations, they have minimum space regulations that we simply wouldnt meet the way we are squashed in to them planes.

I'm afraid that - for me at least - I'd rather spend the extra money on a nice hotel or something else when I get where I'm going, and put up with 8.5 hours less comfort on the plane.
Given my condition I don't honestly think I could have came back in a regular seat, but maybe the overall experience was wasted for me because:
Arriving in a wheelchair at check-in made me invisible.
There was no chauffeur service experience in getting to the airport.
The super-dooper meals really didn't apply on a flight departing at 1.30am, and the tea at breakfast was the WORST I've EVER tasted.
There was no great service, mainly because I slept most of the way but, when I had to go to the loo during the night, and again to brush my teeth in the morning, I was left entirely on my own.
Getting on the plane first just meant I was stuck on there even longer! It didn't help that I was huckled out of Upper Class pretty quickly on arrival so they could strip the beds etc and then wouldn't bring the wheelchair down the bridge till everyone else had departed so I was just left hanging around for what felt like ages.
The luggage did come off pretty quickly though.
