Default Drivers side side light problem...

Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction, my side light on one side will not light up (drivers side 4x4 Saph. Cossie).

It's not the bulb or the bulb casing as I have tried it on anotherone, it's not the fuse so it's left me wondering what the hell it is, The bulb lights up when the fog light switch is turned on but dead otherwise (all other lights lightup ok)

Is there some kind of earth that could be stopping just the sidelight from coming on (the sidelight on the passenger side works perfectly btw) The warning light on the dash came on telling me there was a bulb out just after I booted it so the back end squotted a bit not sure if any wires can get snagged?

Check the relays in the fuse box, i've had related problems as had someone else on here some time ago, try doing a search, mine was a relay playing up. Just give them all a wiggle and see if it helps.

I think what you mean when you say "bulb failure module" is the unit in the dash with a pic of the car on it, and it should light up an indication when a bulb has blown.

I think it's most likely an earth problem. Take all the ones you can see off and clean them up.

is there an earth for just the drivers side side light?? as the fog light lights the same bulb up but not the normal side light part of the bulb... I have just put a live to it and it works fine (it's the red/white wire or at least that seemed the colour in the dark

Earths can be really funny.

The indicators packed up on our S2 RST, (the hazards still worked tho ) i changed flasher relay, and indicator stalk, £15 and £60 still no change, so i took it in to an auto electrician. Turned out to be a bad earth on the reverse light harness

I just thought if it is an earth problem then if I run a cable from the brown wire on the back of the lights (which I take is the earth) to an earth then that would rule out an earth problem?

arrgh its just started working again and I didn't touch it to fix it will have to wait till it goes again to see whats wrong...

though am I right in saying I can run a wire from the brown earth wire to another earth and it should fix it if it's an earth problem?

had to bring this post back, It's done it again it seems if I leave it long enough the light just works again so it may be a relay getting hot then stops working... Does anyone know which relay controls the rear drivers side side light? PLEASE
