Ordinary masonary drill bit, start with smaller size and work upto the size you want, make sure you dont push to hard otherwise the tile will crack and make sure your drill is turned off the hammer bit,
or, Glass drilling bit!
I always use this method, and have never broken a tile or mirror!

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
use a 7mm standard masonary bit, without the drill on hammer, you'll feel it bite into the glaze on the tile and should go through no bother, once through the tile then put the drill on hammer action till you get through the wall. then repeat with a larger bit.
use a brand new drill bit though or it'll probably slide all over the place.

i've used this type on 10 mm ceramic tiles when i didn't have the diamond cutter to hand, work ok if you keep well lubed with water drill the centre hole with a masonary bit off hammer first.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
When i am using a standard masonry drill to drill into ceramic tiles i usually put a couple of thicknesses (one on top of the other) of masking tape where i'm about to drill as this usually stops the drill bit from slipping when it's trying to 'bite'.
