Default Changing Subframe ?

Changing a subframe. This will be the 1st time but isit something i can take on or should i get some help take it down to my local garage to fit it for me ?

Yeah,if you've got the tools it's not a bad job at all.obviously it depends upon what car your working on but the priciples are basically the same.what car is it on?

Clio. I have the tools i think it should just be normal sockets & bolts ?

Done one before,very easy,u need 16mm socket from memory as that's the general bolt size so double check as not all sets have them.it was easier to unbolt the steering rack from the frame iirc as I'm sure the pinch bolt for the column was inaccessible.there was a rear engine mount that needed undoing but it was generally pipsish.be careful that the whole thing dosent swing at you when you take the last bolt out as it did for me and gave me a nice whack on the nose!!!

Should be easy enough, I had to lower mine when working on my old escort, didnt have to remove it completely but it was easy enough if I needed to, just undone all the bolts and lowered it with a jack.

Ohh ok. I'll rather learn & do it myself/help from mates then to take it to a garage. Last time i eneded up paying something like £400 but that was including new brakes but on top of that it took them 2 weeks to locate a subframe
