Spotted this today - BONKERS!

Whilst out working I drove past this, so stopped for a quick look!

Couldn't see what engine was in it, but I'm guessing a big ass V8 as the blower (Holley) was HUGE! Fully stripped inside, caged up, fabricated metal dash and a BIG transmission tunnel, no rear seats - and no place to even put them - all plated out! But from what I could see the rear wasn't tubbed and it had stock 15" RS rims on it - no fat rear tyres

Body work looked really clean too, guessing it's had a lot of time spent on it with new panels and paint etc...

Don't know mate, didn't look. I literally stopped for 30 seconds to take a quick look at it as I don't really go snooping on other people's property, but this was too bonkers to just drive past!

The car is indeed genuine. (no its not mine either)Belongs to a guy called tony .the engine is a rover V8,,and yes it runs and drives..from what i remeber Its rear wheel drive, and like you say caged and strenghed to the hilt.. its been built for the past 3 years... the guy thats done it also had the first V6 mk4 escort cab too

Was having a look over this at battlesbridge at the week end ,was not impressed by the tunnel being riveted in and the cage layout ,home made ally dash chomped around the clocks etc ,did not want to run right and lights stuck on and he said it flew through the mot the day before,the guy replied to him "did you know the tester then"

i see this at battlesbridge and the fab work is that bad it was comical,no way would i get in it,looked like a death trap. to make the bends in sections of the cage it looked like he just got the lenght of tube and bent it over his knee lol. if you was to get in it you would proberly cut yourself on one of the jagged bits of metal sticking out.

Think i have spoke to the guy who owns this the other month was at his work and he was talking about it and showed us a picture my cousin knows him, he was saying him and his son have built a few cars think he said about a mondeo they built with silly bhp, will have a word with cousin and find out some more info
