Default GT35 exhaust housing Q?

I have the chance to purchase a GT35 (R I think) well cheap of a mate but it has a 1.06 exhaust housing on it which is WAY too big for what I want. Whats the smallest I could go for without it surging its tits off

Cheers

Mark

For your car? 1.8 SX?

Well i know with 2.6litres Abbey Motorsport use the .86 housing when they put GT35Rs on GTRs, 1bar boost by 3000rpm, depending where you expecting the boost threshold to start, that might be a good idea for your car too.

Dont forget the GT35R has a much higher flow compressor and i think more efficient turbine too so can do 600+bhp wheras a plain GT35 is only good for about 500bhp

Dont spose you got this from someone from essex with a pulsar did you? Someone was flogging one new (or as good as) for about 500quid a couple of months back.

Cheers for the reply steve, yeah this is for my motor. I heard I can get a .63 to fit from aet turbo's but thought that might surge. Only really after 450-500 so don't mind dropping the potential of he turbo to suit me.

Not from round essex, its off someone from my way and they only want £500 which is reasonable

The only thing I am worried about is making it undrivable and coming on boost at redline

Even if it isn't the 'R' version if it will push 500bhp then I will be more then happy.

Don't suppose you know what the spool up will be like with one of those with a .63 do ya? I am only aiming to rev it to 7500rpm max.

Really, I was led to believe it would't hit 2 bar till 6k I don't mind some lag as I will just drop a cog but don't want a power band of 5500rpm till 7k if that makes any sense.
I got told by someone on the sxoc that there is a new internal wastegate GT30 capable of 500...Here's a link see what you think...http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=GRT

2bar at 6k? Doubt that with a .63, esp as a GT35 has smaller wheels than a 35R so less weight to spin up.

That one in the link looks good too, but you never know if its surge-tastic

Now you got me thinking again to go with the GT35 Don't suppose you know of anywhere I can get the compressor map for a GT35 with .63 do ya? Actually I will have a quick search on google got tobe something. Hopefully it isn't the R version if so will have to give it a miss. Or will pm ya the details incase any of ya mates might want it.

Can't wait to have some real power 270bhp in my sx feels slower then my old RS
