They have SOOOO much more traction than you think!!!! You basically SIT over the rear wheels. Thats alot of weight
That must be why it worked well for me too

AND you can feel what its doing so early and just back off or correct.
The amount of driver feedback from these cars is SO rewarding, we should all have one really, and Si B certainly should, that evo of his does all the driving for him, he's just another passenger really

Lee, its turning into a bloody good job that Im running the clio over for you now as otherwise me and Si B would now have no transport, so looks like you're doing me the favour now not the other way around!
Just thought though, when you are using the clio at the ring and me and Si want to go for a pizza, we'll have no transport, so are you taking over anything else you can lend me?

Westy is going to be fucking awesome on the GT30, it was the way you always should have gone in the first place.

Next step : LONG BLOCK and 700BHP!

Dont piss about with intermediate stages

849 euros for a day for 2 drivers including 10 laps and fuel etc looks like great value to me.

Edit, Ive just read the smallprint, if you bin it then you have an excess on their insurance of:
Car : 8000 euros
Ring damage : 5000 euros

Sadly I would be having a very bad holiday if I ended up owing 13K, and I already know how easy it is to crash at the ring, so Id sooner wait till I get home and rape my clio around combe instead, where I only have to pay:
Car : 1500 quid tops
Circuit : 0

Which is more in my league price wise

I guess I could try and drive at 8/10ths of my talent level instead of my normal 11/10ths level of commitment versus talent

Will see if Si fancies it, 425 euros each for 5 laps each does seem like a very good deal.

What would happen if you abandoned the smashed Alfa and came home? Would the UK be bothered, and would Germany be waiting for you next time you go there. And if so, how?

I assume you have to sign a legal binding document and give a swipe of your credit card, so I guess they would just charge my card the 13k, then I would end up owing it to mastercard or visa.

Ah, right, I see. Not the best of ideas then. Do you think the UK Police would be interested?

No not at all its not a criminal offence to go abroad and crash a car whilist driving legally and insured, but I do think that I dont want a 13K credit card bill

Thats more like it Porky, GT30R i take it, probably the best one for track driving with a YB. Good luck with the maping, you might need a set of cams and a bit of porting to get the best out of it!

Kind offer regards the Clio Lee, and thanks Chip for being cool about the death of your transport option

I can't afford the Alfas Lee, just too much going out getting the bits ordered for the Evo.

Laps and fuel were going to go on the credit card, to be woried about later

We'll see how things go - I'm off to Northampton tomorrow to pick the engine back up from the builder, not sure when the box will be ready, time is not on my side.

Was really looking forward to the trip, now I'm not. I love the driving and I love the social in equal measure, not doing one or the other will literally halve the experience for me.

INTERCOOLER is going to be crying like a girl . However, I suspect Pro-alloy have already had the call - pointing at Stu's set up - "I want that one" .

Excellent Lee. Told you to go that route when you started the build. NOt sure what spec your engine is but i done all the hard work and testing with GT30 on a relatively standard engine

i suppose if there is any lag, its countered by the fact the car is lighter than a bag of sand and has perfect weight balance.

These are pretty cheap as n/a cars at the moment!

Those figures sound wrong mate. Its much cheaper and laps are unlimited. I will talk to RSR for you and see what deal I can get. It will really spoil my weekend if you two are not out there enjoying the track as well

That was the inclusive price off their website including fuel and lap tickets etc, its 849 for a day inluding 10 laps, so 425 each for 5 laps.

The price doesnt bother me mate, wouldnt care if it was twice as much I would still be interested its the excess for binning it that is the problem though, a grand or two isnt a problem to me to spend crashing a car, but 10K+ is!

Same reason I turned down your generous offer of letting me drive the clio round the ring, I couldnt afford to bin that either.

Si B is still working on his car like mad, so might not be an issue yet anyway for him with regards to driving and I do so many trackdays anyway thats its nice to just relax and go passenger for once anyway and not have to worry about anything

Phone Si B about a room as he isnt likely to be online much to answer PMs at the moment, and Jim sounds like he has a passenger seat spare

I was going to say hello, but since you wouldn't know me from Adam and me asking someone "Hello Porkie" and the bloke saying (if it was not you), "You taking the fooking piss!!!!".

If i go to the ring which is all dependent on some money going into my bank account on time for it, i have 2 spare seats in a comfortable saloon car (actually have 3 but good luck fitting behind me, my head is seen in the rear passenger window from outside the car )

I drove my Ferrari... they let me in for free as they thought it was a replica

I did meet some replicas though!
