I wouldn't wish that on a broke-dick dog. Sorry.

Worth about 5 pence in my opinion.

I really wanted a Phaeton when I was about 15 and going through a 'kit car phase'. Hideously ugly but I like them. Would agree that you shouldn't pay more than 500, and only if the body is sound.

it looks alot worse than it actually is tbh. if the engine is fubar i have a 2.0 dohc 8v ford and a type 9 that would fit in there nicely

im looking for a project as ive officially quite on the hotrod so the chevy is coming out of that awaiting an american musclecar shell and i should be able to swap the hotrod rolling chassis for the dutton so will cost me about £200.

It's a Phaeton S3. I had one years ago as a project with my brother. We gave up and sold it for £600 as an unfinished project. It was a lot more finished than that one

there isnt much needed headlight and indicator are in the car and the engine bay seems complete, interior is all there and roof will not be used anyways as its just a summer toy for my missus.

if you fancy a project then fair play but the dutton will always be hard to shift on when time comes to sell

but as you can do all the work yourself for parts lying around then it will at least be a laugh and keep you out of trouble in the skyline
just don't spend any ££ on it

sure the V8 would fit in there some how

well he doesnt want the hot rod tub anymore as his son in law basically cant be arsed, and the bottom line is £400, i offered him £300 but he wont wear it.

cant decide at the moment what to do ? its not about the money i could buy it 50 times over but i dont want to pay more than its worth.

Each to their own and all that, but I REALLY wouldn't be upset if I couldn't strike a deal on that - I'm old enough to remember them when they were new and I didn't like it then - the passage of time hasn't improved it - in my eyes, at least.

POS mate, I did one up years ago and turned into a massive job. They are shoddy from the factory so you haven't got a good base to start with.

There are some around with V8's in though, although i'd rather drive my Saff with no brakes than one of them...

Hi Scoobyslayer, sorry for the delay - I've now activated your account over on the DF Its an S2 btw. That reg doesn't bring anything up on the DVLA vehicle enquiry site, you'd have to make sure you got the V5 with it instead of applying for it just incase its been used on another kit build. One bonus being its tax exempt

Cheers

G

Yes, S2 I had one as my first car, died suddenly james bond style under the trailer of a hgv

540Kg's with me in and about 120ish bhp so it was fun for a first motor

With those boxes on the back it is on leaf spring, they also came with a 5 link rear.

I think you will find that that one is on triumph hearld / spritfire front suspension.

The times posted above (I think) are for 'weavers' old car which was a 2L pinto with NOS.

i had a dutton sierra given to me as my 1st car, and trust me, thats a much uglier car than the phaeton!

terrible quality fibreglass, static shocks whenever u touched it after it had been standing, i hated the damn thing!

its only saving grace was the 3.1 V6, and the new weller rims with BF goodridge tyres with white writing on them

my mate put it in perspective earlier its worth over £400 by the sum of its parts at worst or at best it will get done and 2 years free roadtax has more than paid of the initial outlay. either way i cant loose and the missus loves it so its game on

i think itl look quite smart with that scabby roof removed and all sprayed up.

i wont be driving it as i cant comfortable fit in the thing ! the missus can though

its the sort of project i like everything is there just needs going though and cleaning, painting and replacing worn components which arent as many as it looks.

il get a vid up of it driving down the road when its running as thats first job just get it going and make sure engine and drivetrain work ok.

i cant see it being that bad, just like any old 70s car crap by todays standard but good in its own right if your into them.

i personally think it looks awesome and am enjoying working on it. someone has wired the distributor up wrong and its now knackered but i tryed one i have of a 1100 mk2 fiesta and its identical no points either its module on side of distributor. just gotta wire it up tmrw night and put on the brand new carb i have and hopefully she will fire up its got plenty of chuff chuff on cranking so something should happen
