Default Anyone know about tax.

Hi all.
Anyone know about tax as I got my P60 the other day, and what with being made redundant last year, I only earnt about 4.5k, so do I get a tax rebate, as I think you do if its under 5k?

Yes, but you need to call your local tax office (details might be on P60) and apply for it.

I am in a very similar situation, except I've lost my P60

Is there anyway of getting another one?

Big-Dan don't know about that mate, but I'd guess at ring your tax office and see what thay can do.

Same sort of thing happened to me, your tax office should be on your p60. If not go here http://search2.hmrc.gov.uk/kbroker/h...tor.jsp?type=1 give them a call and they will sort you out. Prepare to be on hold for a while though! I just gave them my national insurance number and they said I should have my rebate beginning of june.

If you've lost your P60, your final pay slip will have the YTD/Year-to-date total which shall suffice

The quicker you earnt the money, the more tax you are likely to be entitled to as the bigger percentag you will have paid in the first place.

As if you earnt all that 5K by the end of the first few months you will have paid a lot of tax but if it took you 10 months to earn it and you were only out of work for a couple of months you will have paid hardly any.

4.5k in just under 6 mounths after get getting back into work ain't a lot.
I drop my p60 into the tax office before I went away for with work, hopefully I'll have a letter back when I get home week after next.
