yeh they are a good van. I work for the royal mail and work on theses vans. The only problems we get with them are. The front doors swing open to wide and the hinges bend. The rear hand brake cables wear in the backing plates. Back gear box mount wears. Gear cables go stiff. Ive been working for the rm for nearly 2 years and ive never had any problems with engines or gearboxes. Come to think of it the only problem with the boxes is the pin snapping in the selector.

ive run a few, good little vans, poblems i had are sills are made of tissue (so dont cut a built up junction) and paintwork can be poor so sills flake badly, watch for damage, they are easy to fix but sometimes its worse than it looks, i had 1 that had a big smash and it was never right
ive been thru loads of sills and the funny shapes in the back dicate what you can fit in
you need a side door, look about as some had 2 then you can use 1 side for access and the other to get to racking and storage, handy
dunno what engine to get, biggest i guess, they are all good on fuel for what they are

I have a T220, and this refers to its load carrying capacity I belive.
LX's are the higher spec'd ones and are deff the ones to go for, and as above try to find one with both side doors, as it makes life much easier![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
They used to come in 3 Diesel power outputs, 75, 90 and 115 and 2 petrol options, one with LPG and one without.
The battery light coming on is a very common fault and is 90% of the time due to one of the 3 wires on the alternator plug breaking internally. Easy fix.
Low fuel light also comes on very early, mine still has 20litres of fuel in the tank when it lights!
I don't know the law in regards to towing with an A frame, but with a braked trailer the Connect only has about an 800KG tow capability.

i work at ford and we have a few of these as smaller delivery vans,,,, they are fun to drive, aint much hassle considering how we treat them though the brakes are warped on 3 of them,,,,,, which is amazing considering all our vans are limted to 70mph,,,, the connects are limted to 65 for some reason,,,,, not that i was the one who discovered that,,,,, honest

ps: ours are high tops with lux pack and aircon ect,,,,, so quite comfortable as a delivery van
oh ours get changed every year though which may be why we dont have issues with em

Otherwise we have run a few for a few years now with no real problems tbh, unlike the 2 transits that have both decided they need new accelerator pedals two weeks before they go back to the leasing company
