55 plate focus boot release problem

Default 55 plate focus boot release problem

Hi
Just wonderd if anyone can help with a problem thats just started on my focus. When I touch the brake pedal the electronic boot release operates, any help appreciated.

youve got a water leak mate.if you pull back the passenger side trim in the boot there is a connector there and water runs down from the hinge flange and corrddes that connector causing it to short.pull it apart,clean it up,protect it and try.i guarentee thats what it is.make sure the relay for rear wiper is ok as that gets water in it too

Is it a mk2 focus? Mine had a leak in the boot too, I fixed it by adjusting the boot catch a bit so it seals a bit tighter. Need to give it a bit of a slam to get it to shut but stops the leak. Used to pour in before!
