Default new engine rebuild advice wanted please from the Experts.

engine is back out of the car, requires new pistons, head skim.

i am now stuck with a choice high compression with gt30/external wastegate

or sticking with my low compression and trusty t4

i will be keeping it on 8 greens with level 8 ecu

ideally would like to keep it around 500bhp but would like a bit more torque midrange ;old torque figure was 440 lb/ft

original cams were 15 inlet 14 outlet

cheers steve

I'd go with the GT series turbos....T4s are proven, but the materials in the newer stuff is better and they spool faster with the ball bearing center sections.

Don't believe everything claimed . Personally, I would tell your engine builder what you want to achieve with the engine (as in power and driveability expectations) and let him spec it to achieve that. If they are incapable of doing so, then you are with the wrong person .
