Remember the day well
A mate of mine had just started work for williams (supposedley to work on active suspension before it was banned) and it was his pc that helped them find out what happened
When they took his laptop away he thought it was so they could get a conviction against him
He was brickin it..!!
Wasn't it Ratzenberger that died the day before on the same corner?

PassionFord Post Whore!!
It was the day before but a different corner. Rubens also had a big accident on the Saturday I think and Ayrton visted him in hospital
Ayrton was a fantastic driver, I used to love watching him and they were great days for F1.
RIP

Good post
I remember the day he died too. Strangely enough i'd forgotten the exact date it happened but earlier today I was thinking of his racing exploits.
I really miss watching him race, especially since he was such a great person too.

It Wasnt Me!
Huge loss to F1, and very sad!
What else is very sad is that Senna had a rolled up australian flag in his car which he intended to hold up to dedicate his 42nd victory to the memory of Roland Ratzenberger

16yrs have passed very fast, having seen the jps car few times now still gives me goose bumps. Thankfully some of the big names are still racing doing the old timers stuff, even today they are awe inspiring behind the wheel!

I watched it
My granda then died not long after on 22nd june. Him and my grandma had not long bought a brand new Ford Maverick. I remember my dad telling me that granda had died and i was distraught. He said Granda would be in heaven with Ayrton having a race in his Maverick. Still makes me smile.
RIP to them both

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Was coincidentally only talking to my best mate about this on Friday. Can remember it so clearly still. Walked into my mum & dads kitchen and they told me Ayrton Senna had been killed and i just couldn't believe it, i thought he was just to good a driver to die in a crash. He was and still is a true legend.

totally agree with the comments on this thread,
He was a total natural, and I remember watching it on tv with my mum.
A real shame, and the best memory has to be when he breaks down on the last lap and mansell comes along and picks him up and senna holds on all the way to the pits, (kicking the marshall off him lol)
