normally a sprayer wont let you do your own prop work,, as his outcome depends on it

so lots of answers then

no ones actaully said what makes a good prep yet.

but you all seem to know the obvious.

same as everything. The key to a good finish is a good preperation

anyone knows that

BUT HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT DOING IT

Give the paint a good scotching to give it a key, make sure it's all clean and wiped down after and there are no bare metal areas, if there are, use an acid etch primer on them straight away, then rubb that down smooth.

Make sure the body shop has no objection to you doing this basic prep work, some get funny and will still charge you the full amount as they will claim they need to go over your work.

240 grade Wet and dry, make sure u dont go through to the bare metal. It'll then be ready for 2k primer.

Why not go for a brighter white, think that mega S1 owned by Matt from wales was done in a Vaxhaull glacier white, or are you going for the originallity angle

nope sticking with ford white, might aswell keep it original colour.

Glacier white has got far to much blue in it IMO

Its got more blue in it than diamond white has yellow

Use a straight Mixing White with no tints. Easy to repair if needed, and looks amazing.

Don't rub down wet, always rub down dry to avoid moisture getting caught under the paint, as said previously 3 days rubbing down and 3 hours painting will always look better than 3 hours rubbing down, 3 hours painting and then 3 days cutting back to a finish. less elbow grease aswell

yeah i intend to take day's even a couple of week's just getting everything perfect for spraying.

As you say abuser, i've been advised not to wet & dry, and to use anything above 240-400, then work through the grades, scotch brite everything, and make sure everything is keyed and clean
