Am looking at buying a BMW z4 from a dealer. He said it's got a duplicate BMW service history book stamped up by the dealer cos the original was lost so guess that sounds ok...?

Should i still get an HPI check even though it's a dealer? If so do i need to check chassis numbers etc. As far as i know the numbers should be listed inside driver door strip, windscreen and on the engine itself? If so does anybody know exactly where to find them?

Then i phone up HPI and they will check over the phone whilst i wait? What other info will they ask for. Number plate, chassis number etc?
