Petrol in a diesel?!?!

Petrol in a diesel?!?!
My very attractive nextdoor neighbour has just put petrol in her diesel smart car. Whoops.
She called the AA and they wanted £300 to sort it out for her. Obviously this is a big bit of wedge and she has asked me to have a look.
So, aside from draining the tank is there anything else that would be required to check everything is ok?
cheers

oops, was gonna say I made the mistake when I had a diesel hire car but I only put about 5quid in before I realised and I just put half a tank of diesel in to dilute it!
Half a tanks abit much though, especially if car was empty, deffo tank drain, and if shes drove it then prob other things too, but im no mechanic lol

Er...''very attractive nextdoor neighbour''.
Pics of said neighbour..............or STFU lol
And as said, if it hasn't been driven, shouldn't be too bad, as diesel obviously heavier than petrol, but if it's gone though the system then it wipes the diesel off....possible new fuel filter required as well.

You'll have to take my word on it. Shes the typical girl nextdoor. Leggy blonde who cheerleads for a basketball team in london.
Hmm, I will intteroagte her when shes home from work and see exactly what she has done with the car.

what you can do is drain the tank and fuel lines, new filter and blow the fuel lines through and hope that it's enough
otherwise she could be looking at a new fuel system from the filler cap right through to the exhaust, at which point it would probably be cheaper to set fire to it and buy a new car

Well its a smart diesel so fire is always going to be the best option

If she's driven it 2 miles home I'd be fairly sure it's gonna need more than a tank drain. Modern oil burners are so fragile now, had a bloke the other week put £10 of petrol in hid van before realising but then stuck £76 of diesel on hoping it'd dilute but nope he's now looking at around £1200 to put it right

Legend
She's blonde, a cheerleader and drives a smart car. On top of that she put petrol in a diesel.
She is clearly as thick as shit.
Tell her anal is the only thing that'll fix it.

Yep, most definetly... Along with all the other guys in the street... You fix her car but she is happily shagging away with a computer nerd.
Anyways, if it's only been 2 miles you might be lucky. The filter and lines will easily hold 0.2 - 0.5 litres so the diluted diesel won't have gotten into the pump, injectors etc. yet.
I'd drain the tank, flush the diesel line from tank to filter with fresh diesel and replace the filter itself.

Not at all. Just a friend in need and all that.
Anyways, just had a chat with her, and shes put £30's worth of petrol into it. Ive not got anything big enough to drain that into so i've put her in touch with my mechanic.

Mate of mine put petrol in a diesel BMW X5 and drove from London to Norfolk without breaking down.
Next day, black smoke came out! Had to get a whole new engine replaced... they were surprised he managed to drive all the way without any issue!
