fiesta rst smell of petrol + humming/vibrating at the front
alright guys, got a smell of petrol on my fiesta rs turbo at the rear on the fuel cap side, had a look at the filler neck and all looks ok, any other posible ideas what could be wrong?
also when accelerating when turning left / right i get a humming sound / light vibrating, but its fine in a straight line, thinking it could be wheel bearings or worn cv joint?

alrite pal,
it sounds like cv joint to me, but if its just humming,vibratin then more likely the boot shot and id get it changed b4 the joint looses all grease and snaps (propper pain in arse to change lol)..
i was told that the way to tell diff between a bad cv or bearing is that, ur car will shake and vibrate above 50-60 (varies from car to car) and not stop until you slow down wheather going straight or not.
On other hand a cv joint boot (plastic bit) failer will make the grease fall out and norm shakes,vibrates slightly all the time (weird to describe noise it makes)but cv failer will click,tap going round corners at any speed.
quick way to tell if ur cv joint is gone is to full lock ur wheels to left and listen out for the clicking noise then ur right.
