Any help would be great , Can anyone tell me what fuse it is linked to? I cant shut the boot! the catch is open but it wont grab the pin, Doesnt make any noises when you press the boot release. Is there a common problem?

pull the panel off the inside of the boot and then get a screw driver into the latch and try and engage it with the screwdriver, if it doesn't latch then it sounds like the catch is pulled open and stuck as you don't need power to latch the boot shut, my mates mk3-4 mondeo had his boot release selonoid go pop on him so might be common, i'v not seen the boot latches in person but there should be a rod in the boot carcass coming from the release mechanism try and give that a wiggle to free it up, or atleast release it so you can shut the boot, when my mates boot fucked up his unc put a pull string on it to release it till the new seloniod came so you can get to the parts needed to atleast get your car locked up till parts come.

ok 100% the fault here is the solinoid is sticking, as a short term fix remove the small panel round the lock then remove the lock you will see the white solinoid... hit it!!
it will free off but you will need to replace it asap..
guess what job I had to do 3 weeks ago?? lol
thre about 60 quid from ford for the complete lock you can't buy the solinoid on it's own

I had the same problem with my 02 plate mondy. mine turned out to be the touchpad thing you press to open it under the boot handle.
