Doesn't matter, as he doesn't need a licence to drive it he can carry on using it as his daily transport.

Must be sod all crime in Clacton if the police don't have anything better to do! Way over the top imho.

Yes. Also for a horse and being in charge of a child.

I got a 12 month ban and a fine of Ł400 for driving up the road to my house within the speed limit and not doing any harm to anyone or anything.

Coppers ran on the premise of "we couldnt keep up, therefore your driving was dangerous" upheld on the basis of "We know you didnt have an accident, but imagine if you had...."

most judges are still of the onion that a coppers word is worth 100 civilians saying the opposite, so until we get into a method where coppers are just as lowly regarded as your average joe public you will always have this happen

worst case scenario i can think of in that instance is that they would have done him for being drunk in a public place, but i reckon the coppers are going to be telling tales to their grandkids about this in the years to come

the court should have thrown it out as soon as the paperwork came to them, just makes the police look a laughing stock and diminishes their worth in the puiblic's eyes even more

Id say thats true in majistates (sp) court but not in crown. When i did jury service the judges spent most of there time laying into the police for not doing there job properly
