Default Trapped air in hot water system?

Hi all

When the boiler is on heating the hot water tank, every few minutes I can hear what sounds like air bubbles rushing through the pipes. Only seems to have recently started doing it, can't recall it doing it before. Is this normal? If not is there a bleed valve or something I can open? Its a gravity fed system.

Doesn't do it when the central heating is on as far as I'm aware!

Cheers

Rich

Have you had any works done to the mains or to the heating system recently?

When you draw hw from any hw tap, does the hw splatter about coming out of a hw tap?

Czech Mate, Sounds like a pipework problem, sucking air in causing spluttering,

Rich 170, Whats the cylinder stat set to on the hw cylinder?

Heating system is a Honeywell Smartfit, its an all in one digital timeswitch/thermostat etc. The water is set to 60 degrees.

The hot water system was drained down about a month ago when I had the shower taken off, re-tiled and refitted. Not too sure if it was making the noise before then or not though. The hot water runs fine though, no splutters, and plenty of flow. Only thing I would say is that I've got a thermostatic mixer shower, and since it was refitted, you seem to have to have the dial thing set more towards cold than it was before?

Cheers
