this ain't a plug for anyone, i'm just telling it like it is before anyone complains ![Pthbbbb](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile045.gif)
got bammo to come and sort my kitchen out on friday, he got his mate along to do some plumbing and we thought, with 3 of us, it would take perhaps 2 days to sort it
how wrong we were![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
it's now the end of the 3rd day and we still got only the old stuff out and some of the new units in![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
i really should have taken pics of the state of the place, we knew it wasn't going to be great, but when we started to take it apart we sort of realised that things were just a bit fucked up as we were having to pull apart 5 or 6 nails per batton, not just little nails, big fuck off 4 inch bastards![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
anyway, about 5 hours into the first day we had to come to a stop as there was a bit of a problem with the wiring, in that it was strung together with block connectors, which wern't even insulated, they were just dangling there
when the sparky came the next day he was like "WTF?!"
the cooker ring, which is that big fat cable, was running off the same ring as the kitchen, and was spurred off, and fed from the downstairs lighting circuit![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
and on the left hand side, there was a spur coming from upstairs, then spurred off to another plug in the living room, across the wall to another plug in the kitchen, then spured off to another plug, which had been spurred off to another power point for the central heating, which then spured off to feed the security light![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
and my 100 amp fuse board in the garage was fed from the mains via a 30 amp breaker![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
the wall was full of damp so the plaster was falling off![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
we couldn't find the stop cock for the water mains outside the house so we couldn't move the mains feed coming into the house![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
then the sparky said we could do the channelling, and then when we said we'd done it, he said we'd done it wrong![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
the floor is part tile, part cement, part lino, and part some other crap, all at different levels so you get some parts which are higher than other and everything got to be levelled up, and now i've got blisters on my palms, fingers, knees, feet, even on my fingers![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
but at least the boiler works and we've got hot water, so now i'm off to have a bath

Oh too many to list! ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
I remember being late to a meal with G/F's family because I was fitting angel eyes to my E36. Not a big job, I said. Hours later I finished the one hour tops job

getting there now mate and starting to take shape, never known a kitchen like it, need builders from hell to have seen it, funny thing is whoever fitted it was proud enough to put his name to it by signing and dating it on unit lol.

the nightmare continued yesterday as it was electrics going in
they went in, but it took 8 hours![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
but mainly due to the walls falling apart where the bricks are just SO tough and the mortar they used was SO strong when they built the houses outside walls, you can't just tap half a brick out, the whole thing either was coming out in big lumps or falling to bits, there are several black holes in the wall that have needed to be filled with plaster, which is why paul and his mate were there till gone half past midnight last night filling the gaps
if i had taken more pics of it i would have done a resto thread
