Default Newbie here ... quick Q.

Hi all,

Name is Mani.
long time ford nut.
Over to the dark side now, lol.

Just a quick question, whats the fastest street legal cosworth, or any ford for that matter in the UK?

I take it the GT35r'd saff is the record holder for top speed.
Whos got the fastest 1/4 et, and what does it trap?
Is reyland still making those quick motors?

Sorry for the questions, just interested to see how the cossies re doing compared to the imports these days?

Thanks,

ps, nice forum you have here!

Mani

The fastest 1/4 is Kevin Sharps Escort Cosworth, i THINK it was 10.88

Yes Reyland are still building the awesome cars and a new one will be up and running soon

Kev Sharpes 1/4 was 10.4 at 144mph

Martin Hadlands Escort has done a 10.6 at 136mph i think

Reyland are still building mad cars, as are lots of others!

Kev's is stripped but the weight of the gearbox makes that weight back up again, i'm sure he'll correct me if i'm wrong

niice, very nice!

My friends in the US are running a Cossie 2.4 litre motor with a PT76mm turbo, carbon clutch, carbon shafts, austrailian made dogbox. Full motec m800 ecu with custom harness, and they dynoed at 721 rwhp at 2.7 bar boost.(sae)

Ill post up pics and dyno sheet as soon as I get them

thye will be coming over end of this year to see me, and try and beat me in the 1/4.

Nice specs over here, but we in the UK are always tagging behind others,

PT76 with a 2.4? Jesus that must be horrendous to drive!

2JZ's with PT74GTQ/.81's dont usually hit full boost till about 5200rpm with 600cc more, even with fairly low duration cams and small ports

721@wheels seems a bit low from a PT76 too really, even the GTQ trim ones are 975bhp rated, GTSs are 1100bhp.

Still sounds mental, post up pics n dyno sheets soon as poss

Theres some US Cossie/XR4Ti owners that use the forum, wonder if theyve heard of this motor?

I didnt take it that way at all, its just we are quite a busy site so tend to have "Fan clubs" so to speak who are quick to argue their tuner is best
